The Chico Enterprise-Record (Chico, California) 13 Feb 1964,
Thursday Page 3: Lester Bevan Anderson of 255 E. First Ave., died
last evening at Enloe Hospital.
Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 11, 1886 in Biggs. When he was seven
years old he moved with his family to Folsom where he started his
elementary education and then to Sacramento where he graduated from
high school.
Following that he lived in Oakland and worked as drug salesman,
traveling throughout Northern California. He later became a
pharmacist. For 20 years, between 1925 and 1941, he lived at Fort
Jones. From there he moved to McCloud and worked for the McCloud
Mercantile Co. until his retirement in 1959 when he moved to Chico.
Mr. Anderson was a member of McCloud Lodge No. 430, F&AM, the
Scottish Rite of Sacramento and Chico Post 17, American Legion.
Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Alice Anderson; two sons, William of
Petaluma and Joseph of Maywood, N.Y.; a sister, Mrs. W.E. Moore of
Stockton, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Timmons-Van
Hook Funeral Chapel. Leland Stanford Lodge No. 784, F&AM of
Chico will conduct the service. Chet Kimball will act as master and
Frank Hoch as chaplain. Cremation will follow at the Chico
Crematory.
