1.8 Maria Harriet Bigelow
was born about 1829 in Salisbury, Litchfield Co., CT, and died after 1880,
supposedly in Port Huron, St. Clair Co., MI. She married 06 June 1849 Thomas
Kimes (abt. 1827 in Pennsylvania - after 1880) in Portage Co., OH, where
they lived in Shalersville Twp. in 1850 and 1870. In 1880, she and Thomas
lived in Imlay (City), Lapeer Co., MI, with their two youngest daughters.
She purchased in 1862 88+ acres of land in Riga Twp., Lenawee Co., MI, then
inherited it from her father when he died in Dec 1863, but apparently did
not live there and sold the land soon after Samuel’s death. Records of her
children’s marriages are found in St. Clair Co. (Forge: The Bigelow Society
