I found your website and saw the compelling picture of Dr. Bigelow,
which I think would be perfect for the website. I was hoping to talk
to you about possibly using the image for our PBS website. If you
could e-mail me at
videopub@hotmail.com or james@sparkmedia.org, I’d definitely appreciated
it.
Thank you so much for your time, and I hope all is well,

Hi Rod,
My server sold out and I've had to build a new web site.
I decided to go with 'rootsweb' so I wouldn't have to worry about doing
this again.
Any way, as I was checking out your Web Pages again, I found your link
to my page on your
http://bigelowsociety.com/Other_Web_Sites.html
Dick and Joan Say's Genealogy Page.
The old link you have doesn't work, the new one is:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thesays/
Thanks for the link.
Your Web Page is really great. It must take a lot of time to
keep it up. I always enjoy looking through it. Everytime I
update mine it seems I have to learn everything all over again!! :)

Last Summer I submitted a Ruby Bigelow descendancy. Ruby is in the 6th
generation, #1592C.B.
I incorrectly gave her mother as Abigail Skinner. Ruby's mother was
Roxanna or Rosina Cone, daughter of Reuben Cone and his wife Nem ____.
Would you upload this correction?
Thanks

Battey, Historical Publishers, 1881
"L. D. PHINNEY, retired farmer; P. O. Whittlesey; is a native of
Connecticut, born September 7, 1807, the youngest child of his parents,
who
were Benjamin and Hannah (Yeoman) Phinney; he was born about the year
1776,
his wife one year later. To them were born nine children, eight
of the
number attained to man's estate. The family were all born in
Connecticut,
but removed to Oneida Co., N. Y., when L. D. was a lad of tender age.
.....
Oct. 20, 1831, he was married to his present companion, whose place
of
nativity was Maryland Township, Otsego Co., N.Y., time of birth April
15,
1809; her parents were Ebenezer and Margery (Bigelow) Houghton; to
them were
born eleven children, but five lived to be grown. After the marriage
of Mr.
And Mrs. Phinney, they remained on the farm of his father until 1856,
when
he emigrated to this State, settling at La Fayette Center, where he
has
since been a constant resident. ..... Mrs. Phinney has two sisters,
Emily,
Mrs. Seth P. Duncan, in Oswego, N.Y., and Rebecca, Mrs. Isaac Blair,
of this
township; her parents died in this township, her father in 1857, mother
in
1860."
From "The History of Medina Co. and Ohio" 1881-
"ISAAC BLAIR, retired farmer; P.O. Chatham; is one of the early settlers
of
this township and was born Feb. 4, 1805, in Madison Township, Madison
Co.,
N.Y. His parents, David and Eunice Blair, were natives of
Massachusetts, . ... .. Jan. 1, 1829, he was united in marriage
to Louisa
Phinney, who was born in Oneida Co., N.Y.; daughter of Benjamin Phinney,
whose wife was a Yeoman. ...... In 1834, Mr. Blair came
West to this
county, and purchased 70 acres of unimproved land, at $4 per acre.
He
erected a log cabin on the same, and returned to New York to bring
his
family out, but, in consequence of death of his wife, his plans were
entirely changed. He sent his brother out, who occupied the premises
until
1837, when he moved out, bringing with him his present wife, who is
Rebecca
Houghton, a native of Worcester, N.Y. , and was born Jan. 11, 1804;
a
daughter of Ebenezer and Margery (Bigelow) Houghton. Ebenezer
was a son of
Ebenezer. The father of Margery was named Joshua."
The History of Medina County and Ohio states that he died in Medina
in 1857.

I have found your website via another Biglow Family, I am amazed,
and all the work you have put into this. However I'm still stumped.
I am looking for: ??? Biglow married Mary Jane Means their son was:
William Walter Biglow (notice the spelling) Born April 15, 1860
in Harrisville, St.Clair County, Illinois, He married Harriett Ceclia Roderique
on July 12, 1885 in Pujol, Kaskaskia Island, Illinois. William Walter died
Sept. 18, 1929 in Esther, St. Francois Co. Missouri. One of their daughters
(out of 10 children) was: Mary Pearl Biglow born Sept. 5, 1889, she married
John Balthasar Gerstenschlager II. All of the wonderful information
you have provided, and I still can't make a link to your Bigelow and Baguley,
surely there must be a link there somewhere,

Rod my name is Ricky Baggerly.do you know who the Baggerly line started
with.I have seen that the Bigelows have done extensive
research and was wondering if you had ever ran across our line.John
Baggerly came to the USA in 1635 and settled in Mass. I
know that there are several variations of the name and have yet to
determine where the spelling of Baggerly started.I live in Texas

moved here.If you have any info I would appreciate it.thanks
My wifes maiden name is Bigelow and we are trying to complete a family
tree. She is of the Bigelow's in Canada. Is the origin of the
Surname Bigelow Scottish, English, Irish or German? I have not had
much success with confirmation of the names origin.
Any feed back would be most appreciated.

Hi my name is Kim Martin I'm from White Sands New Mexico and
I am the Great Granddaughter of George Custer
Bigelow. I have been attempting to look up my family history for a
while now and I came across your website. It's
really great I had no idea there were so many Bigelows out there. I
also noticed you really didn't have much
information on my Grandpa George's family. I know very little myself,
but I will be happy to share with you what I know.
So far all I know is my grandpa was a railroader. He married my GG
Minnie Brown in ST. Louis Missouri in 1916.
They had three Daughters Anita Bigelow, Patrica Bigelow and Joy Bigelow.
Anita died of Cancer in Dallas Texas in
the 1960's. She was married to a man with the last name Sparkman. They
had a daughter named Peggy. Patrica is
my grandmother. She married George Harris (still up his family) in
the 1940 in Carrizozo New Mexico where she still
lives. She had two daughters, Linda Sue (my mother) and Cynthia Ann.
Joy is the baby. She married Bill Gallagher
in Carrizozo New Mexico where the live today. They had three children.
Debbie, and twins Lynn and Grey. My GG
George and GG Minnie lived in Missouri, Oklahoma and finally settled
in New Mexico. They both wrote books about
their lives which my family has. They eventually divorced because GG
George cheated on GG Minnie. He remarried
to a woman named Ann apparently the other woman. I always called her
Grandma Ann. They lived in San Bernadino
California until his Death in 1980. I'm working on getting copies of
both my Grandparents books so I can learn more
about there lives.

I was perusing your site on King Philips War. I became interested
in
the war when reading the documentation on the town of Suffield, CT
where
my ancestors had settled. It was quite interesting to read
about
several towns being abandoned.
As a former curator and a huge living history buff ( former member
of
the Fort Stanwix Garrison and the BAR) I am interested to know if there
are any local reenactment groups in our area for the early to late
1600s. Have you come across any?
