THE PROTESTANT CEMETERY
The oldest stone in the Protestant cemetery is dated 1882. The upkeep of the lots was done by members of dedicated families. In 1964 a few volunteers cleared away the dead trees and brush and seeded the cemetery.  Since that time George Compton has kept it well groomed.

REV. THOMAS S. EVANS
 Pastor
One young man from the church who went into the ministry is Rev. Thomas S. Evans, present pastor of The First United Presbyterian Church of Lansingburgh, Troy, N.Y
The first church at Williamsville, better known as Standish, was a log cabin built in 1884.  The Lyon Mountain pastor served both churches. Later services were held in the school until 1932 when the Standish congregation joined the Lyon Mountain church. Four Standish boys entered the ministry.  Claude Winch and Albert Wilson studied at Poultney, Vermont. Two other Wilson brothers, David and Lauren, were pastors of the Pilgrim Holiness Church.
