     The Lyon Mountain Fire Company was organized in 1958 and there were 30 members in the department. The first slate of officers in the department were: president, Henry Fortier; secretary, Walter Moulton; treasurer, Peter Killeen; chief, Norman LaMountain; assistant chief, Alvin Thompson; captain, Gordon Underwood; first lieutenant, John McKinney; second lieutenant, James McKinney.  They remained in office until 1961 when Floyd Robinson took over as president.
     In 1961 the membership remained at 30 and the department had one pumper.  They purchased a 2,200 gallon Brockway Tank Truck that year. In 1962 the department purchased a 1949 Chevrolet ambulance from Hague for $200. In July 1963 the Republic Steel garage was turned over into the Lyon Mountain Fire and Rescue Station. In October 1965 a new ambulance was purchased.
     At present the department has the following vchicles: a 1975-1000 gallon pumper, a 1958-500 gallon pumper, a 1974 rescue van, a 1975 ambulance, a 1966 ambulance, a 1955-1600 gallon tanker, and a 1946-2250 gallon tanker.
     Present officers are: president, Robert Pageau; vice president, Leonard Bilow; secretary, Ves Pivetta; and treasurer, Frenchy Siskavich. Present chief is Gordon Bushey; assistant chief is Norm LaMountain and captain is Rodney Owen. First Lt., Joey Siskavich; 2nd Lt. Allie Chase. Rescue Officers: Capt. Howard Garsow; 1st. Lt.
